2014 LARGE CALENDAR 3 HEL 2014 CALENDAR 1 COLOUR 2014 CALENDAR 1

…Hello 2014! We all say where has the year gone but seriously…where has it gone!?

I always remember my lovely Grandmother, who passed away a year ago, saying to me when I was about six years old that it only seemed five minutes since something had happened a year before. I questioned how a year could be five minutes long and her reply was “You’ll understand when your older”.

So a new year means a new calendar and I have three designs available in my Etsy shop.

All are available in A3 and 50 x 70 cm poster size. If you would like a different size or colour combination then contact me on Etsy and I’ll see what I can do for you.

..whilst watching a recent episode of Mad Men (loving the new offices BTW!) I suddenly shouted to David (he was lounging on the sofa next to me) that there was a Helvetica poster in the background. I was ridiculously excited and David tried his best to look and sound interested.

Well Swiss Dots has produced a limited edition screenprint inspired by a 1960’s promotional poster for the film “Helvetica“. It is screenprinted by hand on archival 300gsm paper, A2 size in a numbered edition of 100 copies and each one is signed by the director Gary Hustwit. They are available to order here while stocks last at $150. I am so tempted…

I’ve always had a bit of thing for calendars and I’m loving the above vintage examples from a selection over at Grain Edit. My favourite all time calendar has to be the Stendig below which was designed in 1966 by Massimo Vignelli and taken that year into the Design Collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. I just love staring at that big old hunk of black and white Helvetica. David has bought me one for Christmas for the last two years so I’m hoping that tradition carries on year after year…

…but I’m absolutely loving this poster design by Alison Carmichael! It made my sister and I howl with laughter on the phone yesterday!
