EAMES1

The Eames House needs you! It’s now nearly 65 years old and needs some tender loving care lavished upon it to preserve it for generations to come.

The Eames Foundation are working on a 250 year project and the goal is to raise $150,000 to preserve the house along with the legacy and philosophy of Charles and Ray.

You may be wondering how can I help? Well you can by buying one or even all four of the limited edition Eames prints. There will only be 500 of each design and each one is hand numbered. They cost $75 each and Herman Miller and Vitra have created an Authenticity Fund to provide matching donations of $75 for each print purchased.

I think this is such a great way to raise funds for the preservation of such an iconic and important piece of architecture and design history. I just had to have them so I’ve already bought all four!

Go on, buy one, you know you want to and you can also say that you had a hand in saving an icon…

Oh to be lounging in the first pic right now and not in the grip of winter. I want need that black lamp in the second pic. Loving the gorgeous colours in the painting in the third pic.

We’ve had a spot of decorating done in the flat this week and I’ve been very tempted to rush out and buy a can of yellow paint and paint a wall on our landing…it may still happen…

Have a great weekend all and stay warm.

Don’t they just look good enough to eat!

These gorgeous paint colours are by the fabulous duo who are Mini Moderns. Famous for their gorgeous textiles, wallpapers and ceramics, they have now created their very own paint range to co-ordinate.

But it doesn’t stop there, the paint contains up to 90% recycled content! Who knew!? Their specialist paint manufacturers have reprocessed waste water based paint to create a premium grade matt emulsion with a chalky finish which means less waste going into landfill or being incinerated.

The range consists of 12 to die for colours and is is available in a 2.5 litre size and a very handy 250ml ‘Project Pot’ size, the latter coming in very handy for a small DIY makeover.

I will be revamping my office/studio in the next month or so and I have my eye on a few of the colours for a feature wall behind my Robin Day Sofa Bed. Maybe the ‘Pale Verdigris’ or the ‘British Lichen’ or the ‘Welsh Slate’ or…

I’ll be ordering my colour card today and you can get your hands on one by sending an email with your address to info@minimoderns.com. At the moment it only ships within the UK.

…the weekends that is. They go far too quickly but at least there’s always another one to look forward to.

I made the colourful geometric shapes as Christmas decorations but they now add a splash of much needed colour to my office in a very grey january.

I bought the perpetual calendar on my last trip to New York from CB2. I can’t see them on their website which is a real shame if they don’t stock them anymore. They do deliver to the UK but they really should open some stores over here.

Lastly, just look at that cheeky little face of my Kay Bojesen monkey, I love him. A friend visited Copenhagen before Christmas and had one (or two) on her shopping list, when she asked if I wanted her to pick one up for me I just couldn’t resist. They are available at Skandium in the UK.

Happy Monday and have a great week all.
