…when I happened across this chair on Flickr and then Mid Century Modernist I thought I knew every Eames chair that had ever been designed but no not this little beauty. It’s the ES 102 Intermediate Swivel Arm Chair which was unleashed on the world in 1968 but was discontinued five years later because of high production costs. So it’s super rare and uber spenny but the hunt is on for one…sigh…
Chairs
Same chairs…new colours. Herman Miller has announced five new colours and two new bases including the stacking/ganging base and the four legged base. The new colours are aqua sky, java, wafer, greystone and sparrow. It’s great that these fantastic designs are more popular than ever and the colours are gorgeous but I still prefer the earlier fiberglass versions. The plastic versions are well just too plasticky and look a bit cheap for my liking, they just haven’t got the “personality” of the fiberglass ones unfortunately.
